#10 Coronation Ball - God Be Careful

Shiny new band Coronation Ball are gathering momentum pretty quickly, already garnering support slots at London's Garage venue.

Their latest song 'God Be Careful' is a wonderful cocktail of indie and folk with a great chorus and charging drums. The vocals jump between soothing and soaring, while the bass verses guitar solo argues over a simple string arrangement. The drum beats are what got me hooked, skipping, chopping and changing; they keep the energy levels high while allowing the rest of the band space to stay light. Although released over a month ago (premiered at Clash, no less), both 'God Be Careful' and their previous release 'You Had My Heart' are still a big hit here at Raw Meat towers.

Rekindle all your Avril Lavigne angst with the new double single from King Princess.

Platypus Complex' debut single writhes around your noggin, which is exactly what we'd hoped to hear from these desert-driven psychedelic instrumentalists.

Southend meets Salerno, or is it Portsmouth meets Puglia, who knows? Wherever you are this summer the ride is relentless.
