Gossip - Crazy Again

'Crazy Again' means that after a mere eleven years, it's time to fall in love with Gossip again.

'Crazy Again' heralds the release of new album Real Power (out 22.03.24 on Sony), produced by acclaimed repeat collaborator Rick Rubin. And, beyond the obvious eleven years the album has been long in the making. After the band completed a tour for the ten-year anniversary of their 2009 album Music For Men (produced by Rubin) it was Rubin that convinced them to record new material back in 2019. Then, a sentence we're all too used to hearing, the process was interrupted by the pandemic and then resumed when it became possible. What's a few more years' wait?

"When we began, so much about Gossip was about running away- that was always in the music," says Ditto. "We survived. We came from nothing, and we got the fuck out of there. And to be here 20 years later and still making music together is just incredible."

The last time Gossip released a single I was wearing white skinny jeans and probably a jaunty little hat. Now the only thing skinny about me is my latte (just kidding, there is nothing skinny about me.) But here they are; older, calmer, confidently vulnerable enough to fall in love. What a joy.

NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU THINK, BUT LEAVE A COMMENT ANYWAY

Platypus Complex' debut single writhes around your noggin, which is exactly what we'd hoped to hear from these desert-driven psychedelic instrumentalists.

Southend meets Salerno, or is it Portsmouth meets Puglia, who knows? Wherever you are this summer the ride is relentless.

New single 'Yout' from God Damn cements their status as onomatopoeic. You really will say, 'God fucking damn.'
